Character Name: Daiki Aomine
Canon: Kuroko no Basuke
Canon Point: End of Season 3

About: Once upon a time, Aomine was just a happy kid who really, really, really loved to play basketball. Like a lot. So much so that anyone who liked basketball was immediately okay in his book. It was easier for him to connect to people back then; he got along relatively well with the other members of his middle school team, hung out with them outside of class. Kuroko was especially easy for him to get along with. In him, Aomine had found someone else who loved to play basketball as much as he did, even if he wasn't necessarily as good at it. And Aomine is a prodigy. He lived and breathed the sport back then. It was the only thing he cared about.

Unfortunately, he eventually got so good that no one could touch him. The first time he heard someone refer to him as a monster really started to bring everything into perspective for him. No one was good enough anymore. There was no one to challenge him. Laziness started to take him over, slowly but surely, and he stopped going to practice altogether. If he won every time he hit the court, why should he put in the extra effort to get even better? It'd put him even further in front of the pack. Basketball hit a point where the only joy he got out of it was in completely crushing his opponents.

This lasts for the rest of his middle school career and in to his first year of high school. It isn't until he plays against Kagami for the first time that finally, finally, found someone to light a fire inside of him again. Unfortunately, it lit a fire that wanted to consume. He wanted nothing more than crush Kagami and Kuroko both. He had trampled over his other opponents until now, and they were two more to add to the list.

Except things don't go how he wants them to and, for the first time in his life, he loses. The loss threatens to break him; instead he gains a resolve to be better. Losing gave him back his love for the game. It lightens him, and now he's finally back to trying. He's attending practice, he's working with his team instead of apart from it, and he's making connections with people he thought he'd broken from long ago.

In the end, he's a lazy, stubborn, not so terribly bright kind of guy who has what some might deem an obsession with basketball. Hobbies include sleeping on the school roof and unashamedly leafing through gravure magazines in public. He likes to pretend he doesn't like anyone but, really, the people he's closet to are very important to him. So much so that he'll literally punch the crap out of someone for being a piece of shit toward one of them. But no, he doesn't care about any of them. Not at all.

Inventory: He has his sports bag with him, inside of which he had: a spare change of clothes, his school uniform, a spare pair of shoes, a couple of towels, various quick first aid things (wraps, bandages, cold spray, pretty much anything to help a sports injury), deodorant, his current favorite gravure magazine, and his cellphone (not that that particularly matters). He also has a basketball with him.

Feature Type: Panther

What are your plans with this character? No idea yet. Using being a cat as an excuse for his laziness? That'll probably be a thing.

Sample: He'd just gotten home when it happened. There'd been another afternoon of solidly and quickly beating Kagami at one on one (though the redhead would protest, and loudly, at the outcome of each game) and Aomine just wanted to get back to his bedroom, kick off his shoes, and maybe watch some TV after taking a shower. The only problem with the plan was the fact that when he opened the door, well... his room wasn't exactly on the other side.

Aomine turned almost immediately, instinct kicking in, telling him to get out. But the door behind him is shut already, refusing to open no matter how much effort he puts into trying to force it open. Eventually he, rather sullenly, kicks the bottom of it before turning back around again, his eyes flicking around the hallway he's found himself in. The ears atop his head swivel at the slightest sound and he turns to track--

Wait a minute.

Ears? On the top of his head?

He opens his mouth to start yelling when he hears the sound (and the ears move) again. His eyes finally find the source and Aomine isn't entirely sure he belives what he's looking at. That's definitely a person. And that person definitely has animal parts on him. And Aomine's momentarily afraid to look because he can feel something swishing behind him which he's almost certain is a tail and-- "What the hell did you do to me!"

He's angry. Somewhere under the anger is a fear, an uncertainty about what's happening to him. Beneath that is the faint, dim hope that maybe he already fell asleep and this is all some sort of really messed up dream that just happens to feel incredibly real. As though the animal-man-thing can sense the anger, a hand is held up without a word and he beckons. Wary and poised as though he's ready to fight or run at a moment's notice, Aomine hesitantly follows after him, his eyes darting back and forth.

I can take him out if I have to. I'm bigger, stronger. I can do it.

But he's simply sat down and told to wait, that answers would be coming soon. Others join him slowly but surely, looking dazed and confused and angry, and Aomine refuses conversation with any of them. The sound picks up around him and he finds his leg bouncing in irritation and impatience, finally stilling when another human-animal-thing comes in, introducing himself as the town clerk. Aomine tries to listen to him, he really does, but after a while his attention starts to wane. It isn't until he's being handed a case that he snaps back to the present, questions racing through his mind, questions that were probably answered in the last--how long was the guy talking? Too long.

No time now. Not when he's being put in a cart (horse-drawn? really? where the fuck...) and shipped off to what he's been informed will be his new home.

Dream. Definitely a dream. This'll be a weird one to puzzle out when he wakes up.
